but that doesn't mean I'm not interested in the outcome.)

Nope, I didn't vote in the primary.  My interests are human rights like
making sure Roe V. Wade doesn't get overturned, rights for Gays,
gun laws, etc.
Since you are a Rev.  we probably have different views on the abortion issue.
But that is why voting is important.
