I'll probably need some help out there for the details, but in California growing up there was a curfew law where persons under a certain age (I think it was 16) could not be out and about after 10 p.m. I guess the law was in other states, too, as Don Rowe got caught for it in Texas. There was nothing that prompted this law in particular, other than the powers that be didn't want kids loitering about in packs after a certain hour, I think. Back then I always thought it just meant you could not be wandering the street after 10 p.m. but I had a very scary encounter with a policeman while driving from a friend's house in the car. He pulled me over and was really mean and intimidating and threatening to arrest me. I was 17 (which I think was O.K. - over curfew age) but my friend in the car was 16 and he was going to take me to jail for having her out after 10 p.m. I think he was just a crazed bully. When he learned I was less than a mile from my parents' house he let me go. I wonder if the law is still on the books? It might be but is usually not enforced unless kids are gathering in a pack and looking like they are up to no good. Kakki
