Colin, keep on reading! I LOVE these books! I was actually one of the
kooks who went and bought the 4th book at midnight the day of the release.
They just keep getting better. The 4th is the best yet. These books remind
me of Tolkien in a way -- not literally in style or content, but in that
they create a truly different world of which you want to be a part, and
about which you want to keep learning. I love the sophisticated
characterizations of the children. It's a real "kid power" series of books,
which I think is just so great in this day and age. And even if one thinks
the books are trendy, or whatever -- hey, anything that gets kids excited
about reading is just fine by me.
