All I meant was that it sounded like a good idea, *if* there was to be some
tweaking of the EC system, to spilt the electoral votes down the middle
between both parties in future elections where there may be only a .5%
margin in the popular vote in a state.  Then again, once you start tweaking
with anything, it often just opens the door to more and more tweaking until
it benefits one aide or the other.  Then, once again, the essential fairness
provided by the EC system (to protect states' rights) is compromised, so
maybe we should just continue with it the way it is - it seems to have
worked overall for 200+ years.  Why throw it out because of one election?
