'67 Red (over rust) VW Beetle (Mel),
'71 AMC Javelin (oxidized grey silver w/blood red int., Janet),
'73 Dodge Dart Custom (black vinyl over dark bronze, VickyCar),
'80 Volvo DL station wagon (brown, Jackson),
following which for me, cars became appliances that had to get at least 30
mpg to assuage my guilt for a nation all too ready to sacrifice their sons
and daughters for cheap gas, and my concern over global warming (yeah, I
sleep better):
'92 Mazda Protege (beige, Duke)
'96 Subaru Outback (white, just barely makes the 30 mpg rule with 5-speed,
Rocky)
