`east-west' is a good collection of short stories from salman rushdie. i
like rushdie's magical realism in that it is quite different from the
magical realism of Latin American writers like Garbriel Garcia Marquez,
Laura Esquivel, Isabel Allende.
you can always try rushdie's celebrated `satanic verses' whuch may be
incendiary but contains some of the finest prose writing i ever read.
