The Chili Peppers have been among the hottest bands around at various
points over the past ten years or so. Not only are they great, not only
are they popular, but they also have staying power. Their range is quite
stunning, too. Though known primarily for their funk/rock/hip-hop hybrid,
they have some gorgeous ballads and mid-tempo tunes ("Under the Bridge,"
"Other Side"). I'm pretty lukewarm on Creed--I find them marginally more
interesting than most new rock, but not by much--but RHCP I think are a
great, great band. Certainly more than a 3--probably closer to a 7 or 8.
And the Beatles are an 11. ;-)
