i had my ayn rand phase, but i found that the characters sometimes spoke as
if they were in a play. i couldn't help but hear ayn rand's voice
indoctrinating the reader all the frigging time. i liked the fountainhead
and also the movie with gary cooper. although i always come back to my
favorite writers [to the point that i seem to be reading always the same
 books...and i am!] i don't know that i would read rand again.

I remember first seeing Rand's distinctive book covers on the
shelves of book stores and thinking "interesting,I should check these books
out someday." I read "The Fountainhead" and I enjoyed it-in a way.I have also
read a few of her non fiction works as well. However, for the most part,I find
the ideas very upsetting. This world needs all the love and compassion that is
possible.I find the lack of compassion in the books and "objectivism" very
disturbing.
