mariana,
how are you?
''carthage'' is pronounced to rhyme with CAR-bridge, with the stress on CAR
and the ''th'' sound as in ''think''.
are you roasting down there in la plata too??????????

Since you're talking about pronunciation, I was wondering if anyone could
help
me with the word Carthage. I've been reading Hilaire Belloc's "The Great
Heresies" and he mentions it many many times -it would be nice to know how
English speakers pronounce it. The Spanish word for it is Cartago (something
like carr-TAH-goh).
