Thanks for the compliment, Wally. But as the editors of People Magazine will
assure you, I won't be gracing any "Sexiest Man Alive" issues soon. Ditto
Modern Maturity.
And ol' Andri and I weren't exactly swooning together under the tiki torches,
either. In fact, we didn't even share a suite. Or furtive glances. On the
other hand, I was very well behaved and, for once, there were no ugly
incidents involving hotel security, as I've had with so many other
professional athletes.
And speaking of "oo la la," thanks for recommending Blossom Dearie. I've been
walking around for weeks now singing "The Oo La La" and everywhere I go
people say, "Oh, I love Blossom Dearie." What's with that? How did I ever get
to be so long in the proverbial tooth without hearing a word about her until
your post? Was I absent the day everyone else took BD 101? At a dinner party
the other night, Sarah, one of my best friends, was talking about how our
hostess Sue's father had introduced her to BD years ago. So go figure -- I've
known Sarah for 20 years and Sue for 18, but I didn't find out about Blossom
Dearie until I read a post to the JMDL from Argentina!
One more thing, Wally... I think you should perform "The Oo La La" at the
next Jonifest. As Blossom would say, "You know what to -- la la -- do -- la
la..."
