<< happy birthday, my dear brother JOHN LOW!!!!!! i can see you at the top of
your mountain from the top of mine.

I'll throw my echo up to the mountain as well...Happy Birthday to both John &
Raffaelle, both of whom I am deeply indebted to.
I'll elaborate...back sometime in the fall of '99, I was doing a trade with
John, and he said that "all he had" to trade was a tape of Joni covers by
Fairport Convention. I was delighted with the trade, and after I got it,
decided to see if I could assemble a whole CD of Joni covers mating this tape
with some odds & sods that I had (Cassandra, Bonnie, CSNY, etc.). I did and
enjoyed it a lot, so much so that I offered it up for a "Christmas Tree"
about a year ago. While the response was not overwhelming IN NUMBERS, those
who were interested were very enthusiastic about it, so much so that it
inspired Volume 2 which ended up being 4-CD's worth and eventually led to
where we're at now, which is that I'm about to polish off Volume 13, our 16th
disc!!
SO, what I'm trying to say is...if you've partaken in the covers project and
enjoyed it anywhere near as much as me, you owe a little "Thanks Mate" to our
Uncle John in Sydney!
Raffaelle has also made significant contributions. He shared the "Bird That
Whistles" CD with me, and opened my eyes to the global coverage of Joni's
music. Plus, with Zoobie he transcribed and compiled "Diary of a Decade", a
great write-up of Joni's art exhibition in the UK. If you haven't checked it
out at JM.com, you owe it to yourself to do so.
Hope your days are golden, gentlemen...thanks for what you bring to the Joni
community!
