I saw her this past summer at a local festival! I thought she was a 'local'
artist. She has this Bernadette Peters thing happening vocally. They were
having sound problems and so, she was delayed going on. I was about 8 feet
from the backstage area (the side of an historic home.) I overheard her
talking the whole time and I remember thinking, "Wow, what a great voice. Her
voice almost sounds like it breaking all the time. And what an infectious
laugh!" Then the lead guitarist (or was it fiddle?) player walks up to her
and goes, "C'mon Vick! There's people waiting out here! (sic)" She appears
to be completely unaware that she's onstage, talking to others in mid-song,
coming in on the second syllable, trying to change the set list (ON mic)
between songs, etc. I don't think it's because of drugs- I think she's just a
nut! A talent fer shure. Rilly. Totally. Fun to listen to and a very
charismatic stage presence. Just don't let her drive the bus.
