A long time ago here on the list, Ken Corral (an L.A. jmdler) told us a bit
about this.  Ken was acquainted with Ronee's brother through another friend
and got the scoop from him.  Ronee and Joni had been good pals in the 70s
but she apparently was not at all amused when Joni came out with the song
and went on the outs with Joni for a long time afterward.  Ken, are you
still out there?  Every time I hear the song now I think of Ronee in the
movie "Nashville." ;-)
