Ashara and everyone else,

As for thoughts about the Jack M. print of the Joni picture.

Here is the test of a message between Ashara and me.

The one picture that was offered as a gift to the jonimitchell.com maintenance
fund...almost caused an argument here. My wife's mother thought that the
signature looked like Joni's, and that since it was numbered, Joni did it, and
that I must have paid big $$$$$ for it, and what a wonderful husband I must be
to get something so special for her daughter. Even my wife began to believe
her.

I attempted to correct her on the first two items. I left the third one as it
was and didn't correct her there (ab0out me being wonderful ;-D).

I showed them the BSN litho (signed by Joni) as representative of her
signature. Then they noticed that the signature on the picture had a J and an
M. That led to even more belief. Finally, I printed your original e-mail
that spoke of the event, it's cost, it's purpose, and the artist (who was Jack
M-something), and finally my wife believed me. But seeing it [up close and
personal, it's quite wonderful to behold.

My wife went to a corner and examined it, to identify the songs where the
words originated from. Some time later, she opened the Mendel catalogue, then
it was off to the corner again, later, it was the litho from the Mendel
exhibit, and, you guessed it, off to the corner, then the BSN hat. It went
onto her head. As she opened the tubes and wrappers, saw your name, she had
to mention that this stuff was from a woman that I was corresponding with
regularly. I told all of them that I was leaving to meet her (you) next
summer, so be prepared.

Ma'am, count on me for next year's fest. If I have to come alone I will, but
I'd rather have company. My wife is the real Joni-phile not me. I only
joined this troupe to find a TTT litho a couple of years back. Now I can't
leave. I'd miss you all too much.

Now, if you need some help covering expenses, count on me. I'll drop a little
something in the mail just cuz I love you, and to help out with a group of
folks who helped me through a tough personal time a while back. And I want to
make sure that I get the chance to meet everyone at next years gathering at
the Massachusettes Woodstock.

I am not literate enough to adequately express my feelings for a group of
folks I've never met, but you all are dear to me. I've told Ashara that when
we meet later this year and get to huggin', you all might have to throw some
water on us to break us apart.

But, back to the point, the drawing is quite nice. It's even more impressive
up close than on the web page. Ours will be in a frame soon. Someone in my
house has a birthday coming next week, so it'll be framed for her.
