you can also find these cd's (as well as more
information on them) at http://www.pbs.org/jazz/shop/

They are good introductions to the artists themselves,
but probably not any better than any other "best of"
cd's you might find in your local store. although, if
you want to help pbs, buy these! 

I really enjoyed the first night, and am looking
forward to seeing the rest of the series. 

and why do people feel the need to criticize wynton
marsalis anyway? is there something i'm missing? by
the way, does anyone own his epic  "blood on the
fields" cd?
i have been wanting to buy it for some time, but for
some reason, have not yet.
