patrick wrote "but i tell you that my faith is the way i am and how i was
born"

wow, you know i never really thought about this before but i think i must
agree with patrick based on my own experience of becoming award of certain
beliefs that i feel i was just born with because i have vivid early
childhood memories of being drawn to them & getting older & could then
understand better & they had nothing to do with my upbringing, they were
just a part of my deepest being, in my soul...

there are some circumstances, however, where it might appear to be a choice,
for example being born again christian or converting to judiasm or muslim or
something like that...

again, there is that age old arguement is it nature or nuture? both have
their place, i choose to believe...or is it born to beleive... :>}
