well, i guess my honest answer is that TO ME, this isn't a cornerstone of
his teachings.
to me, the cornerstone is that he said he & god were one & that he said what
he did, we could also do (my wild paraphrasing here)
my spirituality is one that grows & involves & leaves room for lots of new
information & experiences, & lots of questions that probably won't get
answered, at least just yet.
most important to me is to stay in the awareness of god & to be grateful &
to treat others how i would like to be treated (another one of jesus's
teachings, i believe)
maybe one of our more religious scholars can quote the phrase that jesus is
quoted as saying is the most important of his teachings, sorry i am so hazy
on my christian history, but i am pretty sure it wasn't the one you
mentioned as a cornerstone....
