Vince, I've always thought that O&M are in their Florida motel room looking
out and seeing the old ladies with their colorful muu-muu's and such, and
Joni was making the comparison between those outfits & a clown outfit.
Plus, while being a comical sight, it's also a tragic one, so the Pagliacci
metaphor works on that level too.
