I hope I'm not repeating anything someone's already posted. I apologize
if I have -- sometimes I have to skim through the contents list at the
top and not actually read the entire digest. But I particularly enjoyed
reading which of Joni's lyrics have stayed in the minds of everyone -- I
find her writing just fucking amazing, I really do, and the kicker is
when it is set to music it is a thousand times more clear and meaningful
just because of the rhythm of it -- I am not a good analyzer of WHY some
of her lyrics touch me the way they do, but here are some I can never
forget:

"sometimes change comes at you
like a broadside accident;
there is chaos to the order -
random things you can't prevent."

and

"we look like our mothers did -
NOW -
when we were
 those kids'
age"

and

"little garden planet
oasis in space"

"calls your baby
'it'
while strolling through your
tragic trials"

Ah well. My 2 cents. She's incredible.
