Besides the MANY moon references, Joni also has a couple of "conquered moon" 
references...this one, and the previously mentioned "We walked on the moon, you be 
polite" lyric from DITS.

I'm thinking it was significant to Joni that the astronauts, at least in those days, 
were all men. She wrote Amelia and paid homage to a female pioneer of avation. She 
also said "In my dreams we fly"...maybe she had a secret desire to be an aviator 
herself.

I can't recall any interviews where the subject was discussed...
