i was just telling a good friend on the list that i'm having a 100% beatles
day. i thought i'd play the white album as i showered today morning, but
it's now grown to epic dimensions!!!!! i've gone through half the catalogue
and now i can't stop playing sgt. pepper's. how can one so often forget how
tremendous these guys are! i was just thinking that if sgt. pepper came out
today [not a gay sgt. pepper coming out, you know what i mean] it would
still be considered avant-garde. i wonder if it would have any commercial
success at all!!!! my head is spinning into virtual history. what would
music be like today if the beatles hadn't existed. would we have joni? would
we be listening to motown? would paz have a ponytail? it very much boggles
my minuscule mind.
