"...Paul McCartney's knack for catchy melodies... "

Someone recently asked if we would hae Joni if we didn't have the
Beatles. I've thought about that a lot... and I am sure that we would
have had Joni, although surely the Beatles influenced her as they did
all of us.

Than I notice in reading through Wally B's account of his weekend with
Joni, Wally writes of Joni mentioning who influenced her and there it
is: among the prominent influences on Joni, as stated by Joni as related
by Wally B: "... Paul McCartney's knack for catchy melodies..."

In that "Impossible Dreamer" is in part a remembrance of John Lennon,
there is another sign that Joni, gifted artist in tune to her times, was
touched as we all were by the genius that was the Beatles and has
interpreted that through her own inimitable talent, as she has been
touched by other influences.

Now, I would have never have guessed that McCartney would be cited as an
influence by Joni, but there it is...

So: catchy melodies?

Help Me
Both Sides Now
Free Man in Paris
Carey
Raised on Robbery
Big Yellow Taxi
Woodstock

these are some of the catchiest melodies that Joni has done, IMHO. The
number of times that some of those of have covered says something about
their catchiness...
