Welcome back! Our story to date: No, the tribute album has no release date
yet. But everyone always brings up that there have been other opportunities
to listen to Joni covers. (Like the TNT All Star Tribute concert, available
for postage and blanks if you ask nicely, BTW). And of course, the Joni's
Jazz recording by Simon. And the JMDL tribute set. Etc.
The real news as far as I'm concerned is that Joni has material in the can
for the next album, (working title: Lama Rocks). The new stuff is a
collection of new arrangements by Vince Mendoza, just like BSN. If you were
not around during the BSN tour in 2000, there are several audience
recordings available. (I can set you up with Concord on 2nd generation
cassette, or from Simon's Camden or MSG experience. Others may be able to
set you up with a 2CD set of the LA show.)
After the BSN tour, maybe the most exciting news of the past year was
Ashara's JMDL video tree #2. This is also available for blanks and postage.
