I don't recall what I've said about Jonatha recently, but I bought her
Plumb on the recommendation of someone on the JMDL. I didn't like it at
first. EVery couple of months, I'd put it on and just sort of wonder why I
bought it. About a year after purchasing it, I put it on and something
clicked. Suddenly, I couldn't stop listening to it. Suddenly, I had to own
everything she's ever done. By contrast, i immediately loved TEn Cent
Wings. I don't know if I'd "gotten" her idiom so it was more accessible to
me or if it was simply more to my usual tastes. I don't know. Anyway,
your comments on it make me anticipate it more. I guess I should have
pre-ordered it . . .
Actually, now that I think about it, I had similar experience with Joni.
She wasn't immediately accessibe to me. The people who remember where they
were when they first heard her are odd to me because it took a while for me
to get into her, too.
In fact, I think that's a pattern for me. The folks I like best are the
ones who don't make sense to me immediately. Still, there must be
something there that makes me go back and try again. . . maybe I should
give nSync another try . . .
