admit that Fear of Music is my personal favorite. Why? >>
Tyler, your statement is profound in relation to the Heads music, "favorite
vs. "Best"...
OK, so yesterday I had a Talking Heads listening party while I was doing odds
& ends around the house...Having done that, I'm changing my vote to Remain In
Light...I put on Fear of Music twice, and twenty years + later, it's still
too damn weird. Now when I first heard Kid-A, my thoughts were that it was
weird, but after a couple of listens, all the hooks had done their job and
the songs had a familiarity.
Heads songs like Mind, Paper, Air, Animals, Electric Guitar, & Drugs, I have
no recollection of although I've heard them dozens of times. Remain in Light,
however (with the exception of the throwaway 'Seen and Not Seen') sticks in
the brain. Also, it was SO groundbreaking when it came out...but I still
don't know if their greatest single song would be "Once In A Lifetime" or
"Life During Wartime"...
Anyways, just my opinion, the worst of the Heads is better than the best of
most!
