I agree that Johnatha is great, and I wouldn't have bothered picking up the
discs I have without this list. Admittedly they were on special, or I
probably wouldn't have bothered - but I'm glad I did. I LOVE Plumb!
I've just discovered another relatively new artist that I haven't seen
mentioned here yet. Her name is Dido, and she's from the UK. She sings the
theme to "Roswell" (the teeny-bopper sci-fi show about aliens), and Eminem
sampled her song "Thank you" in his song Stan, which she has now released as
a single. This song (her version, not Eminem's) was also used in the movie
"Sliding Doors" and in the TV movie "If These Walls Could Talk 2" for which
Vanessa Redgrave just won the Golden Globe. I've listened to 30 sec samples
of her songs, and love them all, so have just ordered the CD. If you
haven't heard her, I recommend it! She apparently was a child prodigy and
toured Europe playing the classical recorder - she also read (and I guess
understood) War and Peace at the age of 9, so she's no dummy! It's not
often that I listen to 30 secs of a dozen songs, and fall in love with every
one of them! I think this might be a big talent appearing - but then I've
been wrong before..... ;o)
