Hi fellow Joni fans,
I'm new to the list, and I'm relatively new to Joni's work. I of course
came to Joni by means of "Blue" and her "Hits" collection.........Within a
very short period of time I grabbed "Court and Spark", "The Hissing of Summer
Lawns", "For the Roses"..........I am in love with these albums (particularly
"Court and Spark" and "Hissing of.......") I really like the flavor that Tom
Scott and the LA Express add to the arrangements........AND I absolutely
can't get over the bad reviews that accompanied "Hissing......" That album
is absolutely amazing, all the way down to the cover art.
So that leads me to ask you...........Which albums should I acquire from
here???? I've read so many different opinions of the albums that followed
"Hissing"
and I certainly can't afford to plunk down all that much money.......I'm
looking for consistent albums, not that any Joni album is bad by any
means........ I've heard some negative stuff about some of the albums,
particularly "Dog Eat Dog", "Don Juan's Reckless..." and "Night Ride
Home"...............
If you could please give me some recommendations........anything along
the jazz/rock lines of "Court" and "Hissing".........it'd be appreciated.
