im just curious here.
a while ago at a local flea market i picked up lisa loeb's "tails". id never
heard of her - i just liked the cover. ( i love cats )
it kind of grew on me, & became on of my more regularly played albums.
i then picked up the "lilith fair' album, which had her singing a song "the
time between meeting & finally leaving" apparently with emmylou harris. to
me this is one of the high points of the album.
i then went out & picked up a copy of "firecrackers", (only available as a
"special import" here - so it was horrifically expensive) and absolutely
love it!! i think shes a wonderful songwriter, with some really stunning
arrangements, and just keep playing it over & over - it definitely does
something for me
i esp. love the "dance with the angels" song
"you want to dance with the angels
then embroider me with gold
& i will fly with the angels
you can dance with me"
it gives me such a beautiful image of the role of the artist in linking
those of us with no talent, to the beauty of art (whether it be music,
painting, poetry etc.) in exchange for "gold"
unfortunately it seems these are her only two albums ; (
what is the general opinion of her & her music? does anyone else rate her as
highly as i do??
