Today, to celebrate Gage's 6th birthday, we headed out to the Chuck E. Cheese. You can tell that I really love my grandson that I would voluntarily go to a Chuck E. Cheese, but it's his birthday and he wanted to close the place, and in fact, we did. That's because the last hour, when most people have left, I crawl through the sky tubes with him. It really is fun to crawl through those things but I only do it when the crowd has thinned... Anyway on the way we were looking at the sunset and there were some beautiful clouds and Gage says, "Poppa, what are clouds for?" and my answer was... ... as it would be any JMDLer and please say it with me... "Clouds, they only block the sun, they rain and shine on everyone, so many things I would have done, but clouds got in my way." The actual number of Joni quotes that come up in my grandparenting is amazing. I haven't gotten it all worked out yet, but grandparenting with Joni lyrics is possible. Of course every time we go into a store I switch to the MC Hammer method of child rearing: "Can't touch this, can't touch this, can't touch this..." (the Rev) Vince, who made this NJC since the Joni-only people probably don't care about my amusing-only-to-me little stories... not that anyone does but I offend less people this way...
