IT was so much fun seeing all those older and well aged and refined
performers mix with the newer crowds. The joni and Carlos Santana
presentation was my favorite part! Also, i thought that the Elton John and
Emminem performance of "Stan" was a beautiful thing. Think of all the hip
hop fans that tuned in to see him and saw Elton John. Think of their
reactions, how they may see Elton John, "Emminem is performing with a Gay
man!" "is this just for the money and the attention??" Probably it is a bit
for the money and attention, but Elton John gets the exposure to the hip hop
community and kids see that, and start thinking, and asking questions, which
is great. I personally am not an Emminem fan and consider him an extreme
poseur in the hip-hop millieu, but I feel the performance really may do
something positive and that GLAD may be a bit too UlTRA-Sensitive. But, many
congratulations to Joni, and yes, Rose, SHE did look beautiful in that
dress.
