from what i've read on the eminem thread, artists associated with the grammys are afraid to speak their mind for fear of having judgment come against them down the road. in other words, no one wants to cast stones, even if they don't like what he says. my take on m&m is that he is a very talented and dynamic person who is also very limited in his social experience and very immature. those two limitations have him singing or rapping about the things he does. it's his talent people really see, even through his ugly subject matter. i think he could really do better if he grew up. as for elton, one article posted to the list implied that he was performing with him to help his own career. i find that hard to believe. i think elton, even on a weak day, would think his career has done pretty well with or without m&m in his life. my guess is it was his way of trying to rise above. say something to the world like...look, i don't like what he says but i see his talent and i'm not given to hate just because he's stupid. that would be more my guess as to why elton sang with him. keep in mind, elton sings with a lot of people and not all of them are top notch performers. he seems to go where he wants to. for me, the real problem with eminem is that he leads others to hate. i think he's a smart guy and probably doesn't have as much hate inside as he likes people to think, but i think alot of his fans don't know any better and that is unfortunate. patrick np. emmylou - one big love - a very nice song. this whole album has a soft substraight of rock drive that is very very subtle but motivating.
