I have my doubts if Joni actually went under the knife for vanity's sake
although she has often written concerns about the aging process
("Sweetbird", "(Happiness is the best)Facelift"). She also wouldn't be the
first artist to go the extra mile to maintain her graphic turf. It's not
easy being an icon of a generation. Also remember, she and Larry Klein were
involved in a rather serious auto accident in the mid-80s, depicted on the
cover of "Dog Eat Dog." I don't know if injuries were involved that
required facial reconstruction but I do think she looks terrific today, and
every bit like her parents.
