* The thing about the 'Dan' is - you need to be well indoctrinated into
their early work - preconditioned to let the delicious subtleties of their
craftsmanship get into your pores. If you were hooked in the past, then I
guarantee that 2AN will become an inescapable addiction. It is also
essential that you have excellent stereo gear to appreciate the full measure
of the genius at play. Donald and Walter are audiophiles, and they mix their
delicate, soulful concoctions with the assumption that those listening will
have the 'hardware' necessary to extract the true and whole essence of their
creations.
It took four 'play-throughs' for me to find the 'way into' this, their
newest collection. But once in - I love it!! But that's the other thing
about the Dan's work; like fine wine - it may not grab you initially the way
a more aggressive, overflavored vino might - but long after your palate grows
weary of the 'bolder bite' - the fine wine, like vintage Dan (and 2AN will
become vintage), will continue to warm your spirits and move your soul,
growing in its appeal as time goes by.
