<< Please! I spent my formative years listening to the Ramones, and never have I "beat on the brat with a baseball bat". >> LOL! And your point is well made, Tyler...I myself have listened to the most vile hardcore punk & rap music that's out there. I've seen the trashiest and some of the most violent films there are. Yet I too have a fairly clean slate. I had good parents, who taught me right from wrong, illusion from reality. My son has bought music from DMX, Linkin Park, etc. and I generally listen to them along with him, we communicate with each other, and I generally try to instill the same values that my Mom & Dad taught me so well. Parents who leave rearing their children to the TV, the CD players, and the movies will reap what they sew. They're the first ones to point the blame at the media when they haven't done their job. This is somewhat of a generalization, but I believe it to be mostly true. I remember reading about that Judas Priest case. Rob Halford and co. were hauled into court, and the lawyers laughed all the way to the bank and tried to convince a jury that listening to JP made these kids commit suicide. Of course, as soon as the defense told the jury what kind of home life these guys had, the decision was rendered all they all went out for a cold one. Parenting - it's a damn tough job, but an easy one to get! :~) Bob NP: Beth Orton/Fred Neill, "Dolphins"
