Hi all, Thanks to those who wrote about my survey on who is a full-time music person. Kate, you are an inspiration and I know one of these days we're all going to end up needing a KBDL to talk about you. Did you ever realize, folks, that what we do amounts to talking about Joni Mitchell behind her back? Kind of weird, when you stop to think about it. However, I don't think she would mind, considering the high level of admiration that is a part of virtually every post. Well, I accepted the part-time job that pays a fourth of my former full-time job and I'm going to try the music thing for a while. If I don't make it, well, stay tuned and you might be able to pick up a brand new Astro van with low mileage for a really good price. Marcel, I'm taking your advice too and keeping my eyes peeled for a stock option type computer job that actually pays well. Hmmm, what a concept! I'll e-mail you privately tomorrow or Monday. My aunt Nancy, ever full of Irish common sense, told me: if it doesn't work out, you can always go back to being miserable working at a full-time desk job again. But, if you don't try it now, you will always regret that you didn't while you had the chance. Looking forward to the next Joni fest. Unfortunately, the Ashara get-together is over Labor Day, a heavy gig weekend for me. By the way, is there a way we could start a CD tree of our own JMDL music people music. Could someone with a CD burner make like a quarterly collection of our own talent, and possibly sell it for like $5 plus postage to help with web costs and such? I'd love to get a regular issue of music from performers I hear so much about! I know some of the Jonifest music got around, but maybe we could start our own little round robin record release? Just a thought. I spent the day in the Philadelphia Museum looking at art, notably the Alice Neel portrait show. (She's no Joni Mitchell as a painter, as far as I'm concerned.) So I'm full of crazy ideas tonight. Well, thanks again for contributing to the thread, all! Regards, Harper Lou
