I've seen some of the NZ version - call it morbid curiosity - and if it's anything like the US one, then yes, it is very stupid! Lots of people doing silly things, then abusing their teammates if they don't feel up to doing it too. The worse thing (in my mind) that they did was split the group in half, then tell one half that they have to repack the other half's bags into one small one, leaving a lot of stuff behind. One guy was (understandably) furious that they'd been through his things, and surprise, surprise, was the first one to go at the end of that episode, I guess because he wasn't a "team player". I don't think these shows do anything for team-building but go a long way to show how far some people will degrade themselves for a few dollars.
