Simple fun with several folks,
We sing some songs, we tell some jokes.
Lounging outside with the oaks,
I've done some Fests this way.
But now I'm pulling out my hair!
People come from everywhere,
Sleeping, eating, here and there
And some that want to stay!!
I've done these Fests for three years now
It drives me nuts, but still somehow,
It gives my life rhythm and rhyme,
So let's get set for ONE MORE TIME!
Shrimp and rain and cops abound,
A shame we had to leave the town.
Martinis flow from all around,
I've seen this Fest this way.
But now I need to organize,
Pick up the house, and realize
Wait! Maybe this really isn't wise...
But Paz still makes me say....

Yes, my friends, it's true!! After much teasing, taunting, and
tantalizing..... ANNOUNCING.....
THE 4th (??Annual??) NEW ENGLAND LABOR DAY WEEKEND JONIFEST!!!!!!
WHEN: Friday, August 31, 2001 (the "unofficial" starting date)
Saturday, September 1, 2001 (the "official" starting date)
Sunday, September 2, 2001 (the "unofficial" party at Atty May's
on Plum Island)
WHERE: Ashara's house - north of Boston
TIME: "unofficially" starting Friday whenever people arrive
"officially" Saturday at noon until everyone leaves at some point on
Sunday
FOR: JMDLers
WHAT: LOTS of live music (mostly Joni), sleep-over, and Joni sing-a-long!
Also,
possibly another Joni trivia game, shmoosing with JMDL friends old and
new, giveaways galore, and much, much more!

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
As last year, there will be an "admission fee". To reserve your spot at the
party,
you will need 4 things:

1. A nonrefundable check in ANY amount, payable to Jim Johanson, and sent to

These checks are to benefit the JoniMitchell.com website. Now, more than
ever,
Jim needs these funds to keep the website going. Please be as generous as you
can. (Each year, the donations are alternated between Jonimitchell.com and
jmdl.com.)
2. The completed questionnaire by e-mail. As this is in my home, and I do not
know many of you personally, NO ONE will be admitted without the
questionnaire
completely filled out! Because of Labor Day being a very busy weekend, please
send your check right away if you are planning to attend. There is a limited
amount
of space at the house, so it will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
There are
ample hotels/motels in the area as well for the overflow.
3. A hard copy picture of you (no bigger than 5x7). This picture will NOT be
returned.
(It will go into the Jonifest posterity book.) Please do not send pictures by
e-mail.
4. The food form along with a check (payable to Ashara Stansfield) for all
the meals
you will be participating in. (For those of you outside the United States,
you may

2. An added attraction for the New England Labor Day Jonifest which will
