Today I received my copy of this video from Jim. It blew me away. When I saw
this last year, I sat and cried because it meant so much to me to see her
alive and well and receiving all the attention she deserved. (BTW anyone in
the know of who is up in the box with her other than Donald and Diana
??)This time I sat and cried because the sound and visual quality of this
video allowed me to really absorb the magnitude of the performances, as well
as the narrated montage scenes, which are spectacular on this quality copy.
I could even recognize folks in the audience- Goldie, Rosie, etc. If you
have not seen this tribute to her- you absolutely must not deny yourself
this little piece of Joni heaven. Mary Chapin Carpenter and Shawn Colvin do
an amazing harmonized rendition of Amelia, as well as a medley of her more
pop stuff joined in by none- other -than James Taylor himself, who then
croons out River to "Jone the bone on the throne where she belone!" To see
the mutual admiration still evident between them makes my heart swell. kd
lang does a heartfelt "Help Me" and Sir Elton tickles the ivories to Free
Man in Paris and then willingly admits intimidation to be in her presence.
There is so much more (Cyndi Lauper gyrates to Carey) and I know
[EMAIL PROTECTED] will help you out. All you have to do is ask nicely. To
all of you who so generously share freely of your treasures. Thanks from the
bottom of my heart. Janine
