Well, I'll admit she ain't no Roberta Joan, but I don't think Celine
Dion is the antichrist either. Yeah, most of her stuff is pure cheese,
but we all need a little cheese once in a while, don't we? Actually, I
quite like a couple songs of hers, except for that frigging Titanic
thing and that god-awful Barbara Steisand number. I even have a few
Celine cds -- Well, my wife does, anyway. The only REALLY annoying
thing is this "retirement" or whatever -- she can't stay out of the
spotlight if she tried. However, I think we're all a little too hard on
Celine and that creepy little man she's married to. I mean, we admit
now that we dig Starland Vocal Band, so we'll be doing the same in 20
years with Celine. The one Canadian big name I DO hate is Bryan Adams
-- oh God, make him go away forever -- did y'all ever hear that "I wanna
be your Underwear" song? Good Lord...... Anyhooo, just wanted to say
that I don't have a problem with Celine -- but then again, in terms of
the musical tastes on this list, I'm good ole white trash.
Evian, whose fave Canadian act besides Joan is Skinny Puppy, the best
damn Industrial band ever --- NIN and Ministry are jokes compared to
them!
