It has now enetered the European continent in France and Germany. This can opnly mean that it will take a miracle for it to be contained. Products from other countries as well such as Holland have been now stopped in entering the US. If it comes here then entire stocks of animals will need to be exterminated here as well. I think that the macro problem is understood but the micro problem is not comprehended here in the US. When i went to france recently I was struck at how "micro" is their beef and sheep industry which can only mean something akin to the Irish Potato Famine Crop failure may be unfolding before our eyes. The small farmer and wrancher and their families who depend on their annual crops and harvests to survive (not prosper) may be severely hurt or even wiped out as this runs its course. This is a tragic situation and my heart goes out to all those who are affected. I cant think of anything like this happening in our lifetime. We should all say a prayer.
