Hissing of Summer Lawns has been included in the Q book of Best Album
Covers. I've only flicked through it, as I'm a bit skint at the moment, but
there's a copy of the cover (obviously), but also what seems to be a draft
of the artwork. There are also some articles which I didn't have time to
read.
I remember a journalist writing into the list about the HOSL cover a while
back, after some details. Does anyone know if this is the same thing? I
think he did say it was for Q.
It's good to see her included in this, but I would have personally chosen
Hejira (which hangs proudly in a box-frame on my living room wall)...
I stumbled across a copy of "A Bird That Whistles - Songs of Joni Mitchell"
the Scandanavian tribute album in my lunch break today. I already have a
copy, but it was in the discount section, which seems criminal for any Joni
related product. Also, I quite like this album, especially the a capella
version of "Silky Veils of Ardor", and, apparently, there are quite a few
people who don't have it.
Anyway, so in a random act of generousity (blink and you'll miss it), I am
offering to mail this to the highest bidder. All money will go straight to
one of the Joni related paying schemes.
It cost me 5GBP, and it'll cost me about 2GBP to send it overseas, and 1GBP
within the UK. So I think bidding should start at about 6GBP or 10USD.
