Joni Chatroom: http://www.jmdl.com/chat.cfm NE JoniFest 2001: http://www.jmdl.com/jfne2001.cfm Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?body=unsubscribe Archives: http://www.smoe.org/lists/onlyjoni Websites: http://www.jmdl.com http://www.jonimitchell.com This is true Hell, there are talks to get more tickets. the concert that sold out is actually for the slane festival headlined by U2, and also featrung Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Coldplay, adnJJ72. sounds like great lineup. the problem is that U2 alone could sell something to the effect of 150, 000 or 200,000 tickets in this country. and Slane *only* holds 80,000. the rapid sell out was inevitable, and it doesn't bother me as much as Bob Dylans sell out in the space of, like, a minute last year (of course that was a very small venue). when it gets closer to the event the touts will sell teh tickets for 5 or 6 times the value, and they'll get it. a second date, even a U2 solo date, would help prevent this to an extent. the residents at slane, however, olny allow one concert per year. and if they allow a second this year just to suit the size of crowd the band attracts, i think they'll be asked every year to allow a second show. so, in a way i kind of hope they don't have a second night at slane. perhaps they should try for Lansdowne Road again. anyway, tonight i am going to Steve Poltz, which should be fun. he was the opeing act for Jewel last time i saw her, and he was great then.
