I second Jimmy's
EWF - Greatest Hits
Hearing Boogie Wonderland always makes me smile. During the height of the
tension around desegregation here in Boston I was living in (had grown up
in, actually) Dorchester, a section of the city that has always been a real
melting pot of people of various ethnic groups. Anyway, I was riding the
last train home one night (midnight). The train was full of all us city
kids, black, white, hispanic, you name it. Someone had a 'boom box.' That
song came on. Every single person on that train got up in the aisles and
danced! It was FANTASTIC!!! I remember thinking "This is how it's supposed
to be."
Anyway, I also have something called "Solitudes Favorite Selections" by Dan
Gibson. It combines well known classical pieces with sounds of nature like
bird calls. When I play it (which isn't that often, actually) the cats go
nuts looking for the birds! And it makes me a little less homesick for
living by the pond.
And since I have your attention (ok, so by now most of you have scrolled
down or hit delete, shaking your head...) does anyone have a copy of the
soundtrack from the movie "Country?" I can't find my vinyl copy (must have
lent it out) and I can't find it on CD anywhere.
lots of love
Anne
