This I think is my favorite Joni song of all (along with All I Want) and on
my less lucid days I think about it fairly simple, and interpret the false
alarm as referring to true love - this was the relationship that she
thought of as The One and yet it wasn't - it sounded like it was, she
responded as if it were, and yet, it fell short, ended.
On my more lucid days I think that is way too simplistic and I am boggled
by the different layers of Amelia - there must be deeper relationships
between Joni's description of relationship and Amelia Earhardt than just
the use of a metaphor.
Today I am not very lucid though, so I'll leave it at that.
