I've always heard Joni singing (as Furry) "Ol' Furry's got nobody, ol' 
Furry's got no-o-o-o-o-body"...

Of course, on the '79 tour, she sings (in that same space) "I got a woman on 
Monday, she shines up my shoes, Tuesday's woman brings me nothin' but the 
blues"...or something close to that.

It's a masterpiece of a song, ain't it? The song is one good line after 
another, but this one:

"he points a bony finger at you and says, 'I don't like you', and everybody 
laughs like it's Furry's standard joke, but it's true - we're only welcome 
for our drink & smoke" 

is incredibly chilling to me...
