In the UK, the term bimbo refers to someone who's a bit on the
airheaded side. It's not as disparaging as its american counterpart
seems to be, and is equally applicable to (gay and satraight) men 
and women. 

In its past here, it does seem to have been applied to women more 
than men, but that seems to be changing, and as such, it seems
to have largely lost its sexist status. 

I don't think *any* of the women I know take the slightest offence
to the term.
