Hi fellow Joni fans,
Well, all this talk about "For the Roses" made me want to put my two
cents in..........
"FTR" is one of Joni's strangest and least accessible albums (in my
opinion)..........possibly because it bridges the gap between two completely
different albums, "Blue, C&S".........After starting off with "Blue" and
"C&S", I jumped radically to "Hissing" and found it surprisingly
accessible..........Then I quickly bought the rest of her 70's
catalog.............and out of all the albums, "FTR" and "Don Juan" were the
two that took the longest to grow on me......."Cold Blue Steel" was one of
the few tracks that stood out, and it took quite awhile for me to anjoy the
album...........Now I love it................I was just surprised that an
album from her "folk" period took so long for me to get into................
