joni's "widows' weeds" is very interesting. it is only
the second time then that i have run across the term.
and joni does use it in the same sense as dickens. i
still remain curious as to the origin of the mourning
ritual. i wonder if joni picked it up from the same
source i did, or is it common knowledge and i, again,
am the last to know...
