Evian, what synchronicity! I'd just finished listening to the CD when
your post came through. My immediate impression is very very positive. I
didn't care for Street Angel all that much, but this one is Stevie back
to something like her best form. Everything sounds right again...the
voice, the songs, the production. I hadn't noticed the presence of older
material until Kerry pointed it out. Whatever, the songs are a lot
stronger than on the last 2 studio efforts. It's already my favourite
album of the year, and probably Stevie's best since Rock A Little.
I'm sure I have a lot more to say about this CD, but for now this will
have to do!
