<< In Joni's case I don't think it is arrogant. Joni is one of the few
people in the music business who has a complete vision of what she
wants her records to sound like and knows how to get it.>>

Arrogant was probably a poor word choice, although it has a bad connotation,
I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. I guess I'm just curious as to
what a good producer could bring to her work, knowing that it would be less
"hers" but still willing to take that risk. After all, her career has been
nothing if not for being risk-taking!

<< Although the idea of Joni working with Daniel Lanois is intriguing, I
hope she never does it. >>

And I respect that, but after hearing her with Lanois' guitar on Blade's
"Perceptual", with Brian & Jon Cowherd's "Lanois-ish" production, I'm dying
to hear more! To me, a good producer is like a good chef, not altering the
flavor but bringing it out more fully...

<< I want to hear whatever ideas she wants to present in whatever way she
chooses to present them. I may not always go hog wild over them, but I will
always listen with respect to what she has to say.>>

Well sure, we'll all take whatever we can get, right? ;~)

<<TTT at least (imo anyway) doesn't deserve it. >>

Like I said, I think TTT is a great record, but can I say that it could *not*
have been any better? No, I think it could have been. And hey, I even LOVE
lead balloon! ;~)
